Barrett starred as the Elephant's Child in the new Cameron Mackintosh production of the musical, JUST SO, directed by Anthony Drewe, at the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly, Massachusetts. The musical, by the British team Anthony Drewe and George Stiles, is based on Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories", which tells us such tales as how the elephant got his trunk, and how the leopard got his spots.

The production ran from June 12, 2001 to July 1, 2001 and also featured Christian Borle, Tim Cain, Tom Demenkoff, Matthew Ellison, Francis Jue, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Garrett Long, Michelle Perreira, Michelle Potterf, Rudy Roberson, Ashley Turba, and Christopher Youngsman.
