Barrett made his Broadway debut in the fall of 2001 as part of the original cast of the hit musical MAMMA MIA! which opened at the Winter Garden Theater.

In early 2003, Barrett also did a 3 week stint on the national tour of MAMMA MIA!

MAMMA MIA! opened on Broadway in October 2001 with direction by Phyllida Lloyd, music & lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, book by Catherine Johnson, musical direction by David Holcenberg, choreography by Anthony Van Laast, and orchestrations by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Martin Koch.

MAMMA MIA! is the story of a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father on the eve of her wedding, which brings 3 men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
